The Electoral Commission (EC) has suspended the re-collation process for Presidential and Parliamentary Election results at the Tesano Police Depot.
The decision was made following disruptions caused by political party supporters during and after Election Day.
In a statement signed by Deputy Chairman for Operations, Mr Samuel Tettey, the EC explained that the re-collation became necessary due to incomplete collation processes and certain constituencies not adhering to the legal requirements outlined in C.I. 127.
Agreement
The Commission further clarified that the relocation of the re-collation process to the Tesano Police Training Depot was done in agreement with the Inspector General of Police and was communicated to all political parties.
The statement stated that agents from the political parties observed the process, leading to the successful declaration of results for the Fanteakwa North, Akwatia, and Suhum constituencies.
The EC urged all stakeholders to cooperate with the Commission to ensure the smooth completion of its mandate.
“We urge all stakeholders to collaborate with the Commission as we carry out our mandate,” the statement emphasised.
The EC reaffirmed its commitment to conducting a transparent and credible electoral process.
