The General Superintendent of Assemblies of God, Ghana, Rev. Stephen Wengam, who also serves as the Vice President of the Africa Assemblies of God Alliance, is currently in Nairobi, Kenya, for the Executive Committee meeting of the Alliance.
Agenda
Key on the agenda is the upcoming World Congress of the World Assemblies of God Fellowship, scheduled to be held in Accra, Ghana, in October 2026. The committee also reviewed progress on the Fellowship’s global vision, MM33, which aims to establish one million churches worldwide by 2033. Africa has been tasked with contributing 300,000 new churches toward this goal, with a focus on empowering the youth and fostering a spirit of revival across the continent.
Meeting
The meeting, chaired by Rev. Jude Ngouwa, Chairman of the Africa Alliance and General Superintendent of the Gabon Assemblies of God, brought together church leaders from about 15 African nations. Also present was Rev. Brent Teague, Africa Director of the Assemblies of God World Missions.
The Executive Committee held a closed-door session with a delegation from France Assemblies of God, led by its President and General Superintendent, Rev. Yann Ntoine, to explore deeper collaboration in missions and leadership development.
Prioritise prayer
Addressing participants, Rev. Wengam urged the African church to prioritise prayer, emphasising its power to rekindle the revival spirit of the early church. He also encouraged Christian leaders to uphold good governance and integrity in church administration.
