About 513 new pastors including exhorters and probationers have successfully completed the Assemblies of God National Orientation Programme, held at the Ringway Gospel Centre Assemblies of God in Accra.
The orientation, organised by the national leadership of the church, is a crucial step in preparing new ministers for effective service in various branches across the country. The event featured seasoned church leaders who shared Biblical insights, practical guidance, and spiritual encouragement.
Solid prayer life
In his address, the Assistant General Superintendent, Rev. Dr. Godwin Tito Agyei, placed strong emphasis on the importance of a solid prayer life and an intimate relationship with God.
Quoting Jeremiah 33:3, he said, “the secret is, don’t move an inch from God for He doesn’t look at your hours, He looks at your heart and the words you are saying to Him.”
He reminded the ministers that prayer was the foundation of impactful ministry and encouraged them to remain spiritually grounded.
Dr. Agyei further urged the pastors to serve with passion and zeal while stressing that ministry should be approached with a heart full of love, dedication, and a desire to see lives transformed for the Kingdom.
“Do your best for God rewards labour,” he said.
Loyalty, stewardship
Also addressing the gathering was the General Treasurer, Rev. Dr. Simon Abu-Baba, who spoke on the themes of loyalty and stewardship.
He called on the new pastors to be faithful in all aspects of ministry, noting that loyalty to God and to church leadership would lead to divine reward.
“You must manage well the people God has entrusted to you, be good stewards of the resources and provisions given to you. Take care of them diligently and serve with excellence” he said.
Emphasising on obedience and accountability, he cited 1 Corinthians 4:1, which calls ministers to be faithful stewards of the mysteries of God.
Rev. Dr. Abu-Baba concluded by encouraging the ministers to respect and submit to church leadership, maintaining a spirit of humility and cooperation as they embark on their ministerial journey.
