Former General Superintendent of Assemblies of God,Ghana, Rev. Prof. Paul Frimpong-Manso has emphasised the importance of character, competence, and good management as key qualities of effective stewardship.

Speaking at the Ministerial Stewardship Conference held at the Liberty Centre Assemblies of God in Accra, he reminded pastors, leaders, and all individuals that they were stewards of God's creation, and as such, must exhibit growth, maturity, and responsible handling of what has been entrusted to them.

"If you have been given something and we don't see a positive improvement or fruitfulness, then you are not a good steward," Rev. Frimpong-Manso stated.

Biblical foundation

He underscored the biblical foundation of stewardship noted in 1 Corinthians 4:2: ''Now it is required that those who have been given a trust must prove faithful.''

The conference, themed “Stewardship” is a quarterly gathering and began on Wednesday, May 21, 2025 and expected to end tomorrow with 276 pastors in attendance from various parts of Accra.

Message

During his keynote message, Rev. Frimpong-Manso outlined the 5 Ts of Stewardship thus Time, Talents, Treasure, Temple (body), and Testimony (reputation) emphasising that every steward must manage these areas faithfully and effectively.

He further encouraged pastors to continuously upgrade themselves in knowledge, skills, and emotional intelligence to meet the needs of the modern world.

“It is important for pastors to keep upgrading themselves, especially in this current world, to be able to embrace everyone in the body of Christ and spread the word to all,” he urged.

The conference continues with teachings, workshops, and discussions aimed at strengthening leadership and accountability within the church and beyond.
