Management expert and corporate strategist, Mr. Richard Kwateng Ahenkorah, has advocated for effective communication as one of the major ingredients to increasing productivity at work places.
He therefore urged employers and leaders in organisations to adopt effective communication strategies to get the best out of their employees.
In an interview with on the Inspire show on AGTV, Mr Ahenkorah emphasised that leaders must recognise that communication is not a "one-size-fits-all" approach.
Communication for productivity
He advised that leaders should apply various communication strategies to suit individual employees, ensuring that messages are delivered in ways they can understand whether through email, text, verbal interactions, or intermediaries.
"If a staff member struggles to understand you, change your communication style or use someone who understands their perspective to relay the message," he suggested.
Christian values
On whether a businessman can be a committed Christian, Mr Ahenkorah acknowledged the challenges but affirmed that ethical leadership is possible.
He highlighted that some boardrooms uphold Christian values by integrating prayer, strong ethics, and belief systems into their business operations.
"A company’s values should serve as the backbone of its institution. These values fuel the organisation, guiding it towards its goals," he explained.
The corporate strategist warned against companies that project religious principles outwardly but fail to uphold them internally, stating that true values must be practiced, not just displayed.
Personal, professional growth
For employees striving for success in corporate settings, Mr Ahenkorah explained that employees should focus on fulfilling their job descriptions with consistency and excellence, which in turn will earn them recognition and promotion.
"There is always a relationship between employer and employee to solve employment challenges. If you do your job well, your boss will naturally be pleased," he noted.
Finally, he encouraged individuals to believe in themselves, embrace challenges, and stay resilient in their pursuits.
"Obstacles will come, but keep going and always give it your best shot," he inspired.
