The Kingdom Life Centre (KLC) Assemblies of God marked its fifth anniversary in grand style at Amrahia near Dodowa in the Greater Accra Region on Saturday, November 30, 2024.
The event, held at the church premises, was themed "CELEBRATING GOD'S GOODNESS TO SEND THE LIGHT.”
It was a significant milestone for the church, reflecting on five years of spiritual growth, community impact and unwavering faith in God’s guidance and provision.
Sermon
The East Adenta Secretary of the church, Reverend John Obeng, who gave the sermon on behalf of the District Pastor observed that some churches die out because the foundation was not built on God.
The sermon was titled, " How to build a church on a firm foundation".
Rev Obeng said "if you don't want yourself or church to crash out then build it on God as well as with love, care, sharing and prayers because that is the only way the church can stand in these challenging times".
Flashback
The Head Pastor of KLC, Pastor King David recounted the humble beginnings of the church, the challenges that it overcame, and the milestones it achieved over the years.
"We have come this far by God's grace coupled with hard work, let us show our utmost delight in the Lord and everything that matter to him also let's continue to share the good news about Christ whenever we have the opportunity. Let's not stop the sharing of tracts and inviting people to church," he said.
Advise,observations
A Financial Expert, Prof. John Bright Kobla Aheto who was the special guest of honour, advised the Senior Pastor to continue to believe in God knowing that God will protect, guide and direct his steps to move forward with the work of God.
A Retired Pastor and Ex-soldier, Rev. Prof. Lt. Col.(Retd) Vincent Norman Kodzo Setsoafia for his part, hinted that the KLC has come this far because their Senior Pastor took up the leadership of the church to turn things around.
"You have come this far by grace, you have every reason to celebrate your fifth Anniversary and all of its accomplishments to the glory of God. This is a great milestone in your life as a thriving visionary local church" he stated.
Ceremony
The celebration was laced with a variety of activities such as a sermon, powerful praise and worship sessions, a recount of the church’s historical journey, performances by the church choir and a symbolic cutting of the anniversary cake.
Local church leaders, Assemblies of God representatives, and special guests graced the occasion, offering prayers and well-wishes for the future of KLC Assemblies of God,Ghana.
Recognition
Special recognition was given to individuals and groups who played pivotal roles in the church's establishment and growth. This included church leaders, founding members, and volunteers whose dedication has helped shape the church's success.
Advice
Pastor David echoed that gone were the days when churches only took from people hence it is time churches also helped by investing in people,
"I want to encourage everyone and churches to invest in people both spiritually and materially again, as we would be voting soon we are preaching peace so let's all go and cast our votes peacefully being assured that God would give us a good leader" he said.
Future projections
Pastor David announced projects the church intends to embark on in the next five years. They include acquisition of land for a permanent place of worship, commencement of the building of an ultramodern auditorium, support at least two people to go for Biblical training and church planting.

Background
The beginning of the KLC Assemblies of God was dated around 2016 when the student body of the Assemblies of God Campus Ministry (AGCM) Legon campus came to embark on an outreach programme around the Tacoma Hotel area, with the intention to plant a church for one Pastor Bernard.
The young church initially started meeting inside the Christian University Campus and later moved to a house behind Tacoma Hotel where they met under a temporal canopy.
The Pastor however left the young church for another assignment with the House of Love Assemblies of God, Tema Community 18. Another pastor, Rev. Richard Suglo came to the rescue of the infant church around 2017, but unfortunately, they were ejected from the house and the situation eventually shattered the initial church.
Later, Pastor King David from House of Integrity Assemblies of God, Oyibi Bush Canteen took over the church. He had then graduated from the Assemblies of God Theological Seminary (AGTS), South campus and had just started serving his probation with the mother church.
He was released to take over the church from the 8th of March, 2020 . Just two weeks after taking over KLC, the novel COVID-19 pandemic started spreading across the country which led to the closing down of institutions, companies, businesses and churches for almost three months.
During the lockdown, Pastor King David had an idea of introducing an open-air preaching, so he attempted and asked few people for financial support to purchase a portable chargeable public address system for the exercise but had no support probably due to the hardships at the time.
Just within the period, a pastor friend came and showed interest in renting a container that belonged to Pastor King David. He quickly rented it out and used the funds to purchase the public address system to start the open-air evangelism at Amrahia Tollbooth community which has gradually established itself for the past five years.
