The Lordina Foundation, a non-governmental organisation has organised its Second Edition of Health screening for 100 members of the Retired Ministers and Spouses Association(RMSA) in the Greater Accra East and West Regions of Assemblies of God.
The exercise which took place at the Ringway Gospel Centre of Assemblies of God,in Osu, Accra is in fulfilment of the Foundation's pledge to organise quarterly health screenings and provide RMSA members with the necessary medications. The first exercise was held in November 2024.
Medical team
The medical team were drawn from the 37 Military Hospital, the University of Ghana Medical Centre, and Total Health Clinic. They were made up of general medical practitioners, Ear, Nose and Throat Specialists, Gynaecologists, Radiologists, Urologists, Pharmacists and Opticians.
The Founder and President of the Foundation, Mrs Lordina Mahama interacted with some members of the medical team encouraging them to put in their best for the success of the exercise. Mrs Mahama was also prayed for by the Greater Accra East Regional Superintendent, Reverend Andrews Awintia and other pastors in the Assemblies of God community.
Significance
The Board Chairman of the Foundation, Pastor Kwame Boateng-Sarpong said the health screening exercise was significant in supporting retired ministers to address their health concerns.
A Clinical Embryologist, Dr Selorm Quarcoe, who explained how the exercise was conducted said the processes involved were simplified to enable the beneficiaries go through it without any stress.
Beneficiary
A beneficiary of the exercise, Rev Dr Florence Vida Adri, a retired Minister of God of the Berean Assemblies of God at Ogbojo,Madina expressed gratitude to the Foundation for their gesture.
