Urgent call
The Ministry strongly condemned the heinous act and reaffirmed its commitment to eradicating gender-based violence in Ghana. The statement emphasised that no individual should ever experience such cruelty, especially at the hands of someone they trust.
The Ministry urged law enforcement agencies to ensure swift justice and called on relevant stakeholders—including the police, civil society organisations, and university authorities—to strengthen measures that prevent such tragedies and support survivors of gender-based violence.
Furthermore, young people, especially students, were encouraged to seek support from school counseling units, authorities, parents, and the police whenever they feel unsafe.
Speak up
The Ministry appealed to the public to raise their voices against gender-based violence and work together to create a safe and protected society for women and girls.
"The Ministry remains committed to seeking justice, providing support, and fostering a society where every individual can live in dignity, safety, and freedom from violence," the statement added.
