Assemblies of God, Ghana is gearing up for its third National Week of Fasting and Praying, scheduled to take place from January 13th to 19th, 2025.
Themed “Pray Without Ceasing (For Supernatural Manifestations)” and inspired by 1 Thessalonians 5:17, the spiritual exercise will focus on deepening faith and seeking divine intervention.
Leadership, families
Under the leadership of the General Superintendent, Reverend Stephen Yenusom Wengam, the week-long event will include daily prayer meetings, a prayer chain, and all-night prayer services across all Assemblies of God churches nationwide.
AGTV News spoke to Mrs. Abigail Adzato, a member of Living Family Assemblies of God, at klangon who shared how her family is preparing for the event.
According to her, even her youngest child has been made to understand the importance of the occasion. She explained that although the child will not be fasting, she will actively join the family in all prayer sessions.
AGTV News randomly interviewed food vendors to find out if they would sell food to Assemblies of God members during the fasting period.
The responses from some vendors elicited a range of responses.
Some of the vendors stated that they would continue serving as usual, while others explained that it will not be appropriate to encourage eating during such a sacred period.
