Royal Rangers Ghana, the children’s and youth mentoring ministry of Assemblies of God,Ghana is gearing up to celebrate its 50th Anniversary in 2026, alongside the hosting of the 2027 African Royal Rangers Summit in Ghana.
The upcoming celebrations, a significant milestone in the youth mentoring ministry aim to honour five decades of impactful ministry focused on spiritual formation, leadership development, and evangelism among boys and young men.
National Planning Committee
As part of the preparations towards the Golden Jubilee celebration, a national planning committee has been inaugurated to oversee activities in the lead up to the event.
The committee comprises experienced and dedicated leaders of the ministry, including Rev. Cmdr Mark Aims – Chairman and Rev. Cmdr Charles Kurankye Amponsem – Vice Chairman.
Others are Dr. Cmdr Gideon Peasah – Secretary and Pastor Cmdr Manu – Treasurer. The rest are Cmdr Peter Schub Nzorley; Cmdr Bismark Ofosu; Cmdr Sahene and Cmdr Isaac Osei Antwi –all members.
Summit
According to Chairman Cmdr Mark Aims, the 2027 African Royal Rangers Summit is set to bring together national commanders and directors from across Africa, alongside key international leaders from the United States.
The chairman noted that leadership was formally informing the church and requesting pastoral and denominational blessings for these camps.
Strategic platform
Leadership plans to align this prestigious summit with the 50th anniversary celebrations, creating a strategic platform to showcase Ghana’s leadership and growth within the global Royal Rangers movement.
Anniversary launch
Ahead of the Golden Jubilee, the planning committee seeks to formally launch the anniversary in local churches nationwide, inviting the support of church pastors and regional executives in selecting convenient dates for these official launch events.
Additionally, Royal Rangers Ghana would host its Sector Camps in 2025, covering the Southern, Mid-Sector, and Northern sectors. These camps remain vital discipleship and leadership training platforms for young boys and commanders alike.
Appeal for growth
To strengthen and expand the ministry’s reach, Royal Rangers Ghana is appealing to the Executive Council to encourage regional and district leaders to allocate time during council meetings for Royal Rangers presentations.
Such a measure would help sensitise pastors and encourage more local churches to embrace and establish Royal Rangers programs, contributing to the wider mission of Assemblies of God,Ghana.
South Africa
Highlighting on more activities, it was shared that between 10th and 23rd October 2025, approximately 20 Royal Rangers leaders from Ghana would participate in an international leadership training program in Cape Town, South Africa.
This training would expose leaders to updated resources and strategies, enhancing Ghana’s alignment with global Royal Rangers standards.
Appreciation
Finally the leadership of Royal Rangers Ghana expressed deep appreciation to the General Superintendent, Rev. Stephen Wengam, the Assemblies of God Ghana Executive Presbytery, and the Men’s Ministries Directorate for their continuous support.
Special appreciation was extended to Rev. Stephen Wengam, the General Superintendent, for his visionary leadership and guidance, with congratulations on his recent appointment as Chairman of the Governing Council of the Ghana Immigration Service.

In response, Rev Wengam encouraged the group to be part of the legacy Temple projects and the prayer activities outlined for the year.
