A moment of terror turned into a miraculous escape for Rev. Stephen Obeng Duah, the Kade District Pastor of the Assemblies of God,Ghana and Head Pastor of Kade Central Church, after his vehicle caught fire while he was driving home with his family.
The incident occurred in the afternoon of Tuesday, January 23, 2025, in Kade town, shortly after Rev. Duah and his family left church. According to eyewitnesses, the pastor’s vehicle suddenly began emitting smoke before bursting into flames.
"We were driving home as usual when I noticed something was wrong with the car," Rev. Obeng Duah recalled. "Before we could fully comprehend what was happening, the fire spread rapidly. But by the grace of God, we managed to get out just in time."
Residents
Residents and passersby rushed to the scene in an attempt to help, but the fire consumed the vehicle within minutes, leaving it almost completely destroyed. Rev. Obeng Duah, his wife, and children narrowly escaped unhurt, a development that many in the community are calling a divine intervention.
Prayers of Thanksgiving
Following the incident, church members and well-wishers have gathered at the pastor’s residence to offer prayers of thanksgiving. The Assemblies of God Ghana’s Year of Prayer theme, "Pray Without Ceasing for Supernatural Manifestations," has resonated strongly with this miraculous event, reinforcing the power of faith and prayer.
Authorities are investigating the cause of the fire, with initial reports pointing to a possible electrical fault.
Meanwhile, the Kade Central Assemblies of God has announced a special thanksgiving service on Sunday to honour God’s protection over their pastor and his family.
