Superintendents of Eastern A, B, and C Regions of Assemblies of God, Ghana, have held a crucial meeting in Koforidua with executives of Retired Ministers Association.
The meeting aimed to discuss plans for the official inauguration of the association and the launch of a health fund to support the retired ministers.
The meeting also addressed key issues related to church growth, mentoring younger ministers, and strengthening Assemblies of God, Ghana.
Proposal, agreement
During the discussions, the retired ministers, drawn from the three regions-A,B and C, proposed a date for the association's inauguration and outlined various suggestions to strengthen it.
They also appealed to the Superintendents for their support in making the initiative successful.
The three Regional Superintendents—Rev. Dr. Albert Anane (Eastern A), Rev. Obed A. Asiedu (Eastern B) and Rev. Joseph Baidoo (Eastern C)—welcomed the initiative and commended the executives for their vision. They agreed on a date within the year for the official inauguration and pledged to raise funds annually to sustain the health fund for retired pastors.
Vision
In addition, the retired ministers requested a 30-minute slot during this year’s Regional Council Meetings to present their vision to active pastors and delegates. The Superintendents accepted the request, emphasising their commitment to fostering collaboration between retired and active ministers.
Assurance
The Superintendents assured the retired pastors that their doors would always be open,recognising the invaluable experience they bring to the church.
The discussions concluded on a positive note, with both parties reaffirming their dedication to the well-being of retired ministers and the overall growth of the church.
