Delegations from the Assemblies of God global community and local fraternity have paid separate visits to the General Superintendent of the church, Reverend Stephen Yenusom Wengam to commiserate with him over the loss of his mother Deborah Wengam.
On Thursday, December 5, 2024, the Founder of Frimpong Manso Institute and the immediate past General Superintendent of Assemblies of God,Ghana, alongside his wife, paid a visit to Rev. Wengam.
In a separate gesture of solidarity, students from the Master of Theology Degree Class at the Trinity Theological Seminary, Legon, also visited Rev. Wengam to express their sympathy to him over the loss of his mother.
Germany
Further demonstrating international support, a delegation from EL Bethel Assemblies of God in Dortmund, Germany, made up of Pastor Mrs. Mary Reschke and Mr. Werner Reschke, also visited Rev. Wengam.
They were joined by Rev. Patrick Gyebi, Senior Pastor of Redemption Assemblies of God, Kumasi, and representing the Ghanaian Community Assemblies of God Fellowship in Germany. The delegation was led by Rev. Baah, Senior Pastor of Grace Assemblies of God, Hamburg.
The Ewool Family also visited Rev Wengam to commiserate with him.
Light House Group
A delegation from Light House Group and its affiliated Churches headed by Bishop Dag Heward-Mills commiserated with the General Superintendent, Rev Wengam. They were led by its ceremonial Arch Bishop, Bishop Kwasi Ampofo. They conveyed the sympathies of Bishop Heward-Mills to him who is currently in Ethiopia holding Jesus Healing crusades.
Book of Condolence
During the visit, the delegations including those from Germany, took the opportunity to sign the book of condolence opened in honour of the late Deborah Wengam.
Gratitude
Rev. Stephen Wengam expressed his heartfelt gratitude to all the visiting groups for their show of love, compassionate gestures and for standing with him and his family during this difficult time.
The burial service for Madam Deborah Wengam is scheduled for January 25,2025.
