Assemblies of God,Ghana has ordained 14 new pastors during its Regional Council Meeting held in Asamankese in the Eastern Region.
The solemn yet jubilant ceremony was officiated by the General Superintendent, Reverend Stephen Yenusom Wengam, with the Regional Superintendent Rev.Obed Asiedu assisting in the sacred ordination rites.
Induction
The induction of these new ministers signifies a fresh wave of leadership and spiritual stewardship within the church.
Addressing the ordinands, the General Superintendent underscored the weight of their divine mandate, urging them to exhibit strong integrity, spiritual fortitude, and an unrelenting commitment to the gospel.
Rev Wengam reinforced the necessity of servant leadership, emphasising that the pastoral ministry is not merely a position of authority but one of sacrifice and relentless pursuit of kingdom advancement.
He charged them to embrace their calling with humility, diligence, and an insatiable hunger for souls.
Ceremony
The ceremony was graced by an assembly of esteemed clergy, church members, and families of the ordinands, culminating in an anointing session that consecrated the newly ordained pastors for their sacred commission. Bibles and the constitution of the church were presented to the ordained pastors.
Regional elections
A pivotal highlight of the council meeting was the election of regional leaders to steer the affairs of the church for the next four years. In a resounding affirmation of his leadership, Rev. Obed Asiedu was re-elected as the Regional Superintendent for Eastern Region B, solidifying his mandate to lead the church into a new era of growth and transformation. Rev Reginald Yeboah was elected as the secretary, and Hansen Fianyo retained his position as the regional treasurer.
In his acceptance speech, Rev. Asiedu expressed profound gratitude for the renewed confidence vested in him. He pledged to fortify the church’s impact through visionary leadership, strategic evangelism, and a renewed focus on spiritual revival. He further called for unity, urging pastors and congregants to work in concert towards the collective advancement of the church’s mission.
