The Greater Accra East Regional Superintendent of Assemblies of God, Ghana, Reverend Andrews Nelson Awintia, has urged the Madina District Assemblies of God Church to remain united and steadfast in prayer.
Speaking at the church's end-of-year thanksgiving service and apostolic visitation, Rev. Awintia highlighted the vital role of prayer in the life of the church and its leadership.
He emphasised that prayer is the cornerstone of hope and stability, enabling the church to overcome challenges and fulfill its divine mandate.
"Prayer is our only hope and foundation, it strengthens our unity, empowers our leadership and keeps us aligned with God’s purpose," Rev. Awintia stated.
He further encouraged and reminded the congregation that unity within the church was essential for growth and effective ministry.
Thanksgiving service
The thanksgiving service was part of the church's commitment to express gratitude to God for his blessings throughout the year, the event provided an opportunity for reflection, renewal of faith, and celebration of the church’s progress under God’s guidance.
The event was attended by church members, leaders and other dignitaries, who expressed their appreciation for the spiritual guidance and encouragement from the regional leadership. It concluded with prayers of thanksgiving and dedication for the coming year.
Madina Polyclinic donation
The Church also donated essential items to the Madina Polyclinic at Rawlings Circle, demonstrating love and support during this festive season.
The items included gallons of liquid soap, packs of toilet rolls, hampers, bottled water, brooms, buckets of cleaning detergents, antiseptic bottles, blankets, and bedsheets.
Reverend Stephen Osei, the Madina District Pastor emphasised that the gesture was both an act of gratitude to God and a fulfillment of the church's mission under the theme "Send the Light."
"The theme Send the Light is about sharing the good news with the lost. As part of this, we are providing these items aiming to be a blessing to the community while showing Christ's love and encouraging others to turn to Him," Rev. Osei explained.
Receiving the donation, the Medical Superintendent of the Madina Polyclinic, Dr. Akosua Agyeibea Ayeh, expressed profound gratitude, saying "We feel truly blessed by this generous act from the Assemblies of God.”
She stated that "these are vital supplies that support our operations, and during this Christmas season of giving, their thoughtfulness is a significant relief for us. Among many facilities in the area, being chosen is truly a favour from the Lord."
Dr. Ayeh further appealed to other religious groups, societies, and organisations to follow the example of Assemblies of God, Ghana by extending similar support to the clinic to enhance healthcare delivery in the community.
