A delegation comprising the Executive Presbytery of Assemblies of God,Ghana,the Wengam and Nyankpen families and Cedar Mountain Chapel,East Legon has called on Former President John Agyekum Kufuor to inform him of the demise of Madam Deborah Wengam.
The late Madam Wengam was the biological mother of the General Superintendent of Assemblies of God,Ghana Reverend Stephen Wengam.
The delegation was led by the Assistant General Superintendent of the church, Rev Godwin Tito Agyei.
Tribute
Rev Tito Agyei paid glowing tribute to late Madam Deborah Wengam describing her as a godly mother and faithful Christian whose legacy of endurance, faithfulness to God and dedication to motherhood is worth emulating.
Former President Kufuor on his part, extended his condolence to the bereaved family while consoling Rev Wengam to find solace in Christ. He also commended the late Deborah Wengam for raising a servant leader for the church and nation.
The Assistant General Superintendent informed the former president that the burial service is scheduled for Saturday 25th January,2025 at 8am. The venue is the Forecourt of the State House in Accra.
Meanwhile a delegation from the Office of Archbishop Nicholas Duncan-Williams, the General Overseer of Action Chapel International Ministry has visited the General Superintendent of Assemblies of God, Ghana, Rev. Stephen Wengam.
The delegation, represented by Bishop Dick Essandoh and Bishop John Ahiati visited Rev. Wengam at the Assemblies of God, Ghana head office, Great Commission House in Accra to commiserate with him on the loss of his mother,Madam Deborah Wengam.
The visiting Bishops explained that Archbishop Duncan-Williams was deeply committed to visiting Rev Wengam in person but was prevented from doing so due to a critical engagement. The Bishops conveyed heartfelt condolences and prayers on behalf of the Archbishop to Rev Wengam.
Appreciation, funeral preparations
Rev. Stephen Wengam for his part expressed his profound gratitude to the delegation for their visit and words of comfort. During their meeting, he outlined key activities leading to the funeral and the schedule for the funeral day itself.
The final farewell for the late Madam Deborah Wengam is set to take place on Saturday, January 25th, 2025, at the Forecourt of the State House, Parliament House, Accra.
