Thirteen fire tenders have been marshalled in Greater Accra to fight a fire incident at the Kantamanto market.
The fire which started around 1am has destroyed many shops in the market and according to eyewitnesses, the fire broke out suddenly, catching many off guard. Some of the residents in the area said they were asleep when they heard people shouting only for them to see that fire had engulfed the market.
When contacted by AGTV News this morning, the Public Relations Officer, of the Ghana National Fire Service, Mr Alex King Nartey, explained that for now the service is concentrating on dousing completely the fire to undertake preliminary assessment of the cause of the fire outbreak and extent of damage to property.
