President-elect John Mahama has stated that although the National Democratic Congress (NDC) holds a clear majority in the forthcoming Parliament, it cannot govern alone.
“Even though we have a large majority, people say you can use it to do this, you can use it to do that. No, that is not what it is about,” he said. He emphasised that governance is about working together to build the nation.
“It is about working together to build the nation we want,” he added.
Mr Mahama expressed that, to lead the nation to where it deserves to be, he requires collaboration from all sectors.
“One person can’t do it alone. It’s true I was voted for, my face was on the ballot papers, but that is why I say building the Ghana we want together – together is the most important word there,” he said.
The incoming president made these comments during the December 31st watch night service at the Sanctuary of Wind and Fire Assemblies of God in Tamale.
