Parliament has approved the appointments of six ministerial nominees.
They are Dr Cassiel Ato Baah Forson as Minister for Finance, Mr John Abdulai Jinapor as Minister for Energy and Dr Dominic Akuritinga Ayine as Attorney-General and Minister for Justice. The rest are Haruna Iddrisu as Minister for Education, Kwame Governs Agbodza as Minister for Roads and Highways, and Eric Opoku as Minister for Food and Agriculture.
Vetting process
The nominees were subjected to a comprehensive vetting process conducted by the Appointments Committee which assessed their qualifications, experience, and strategies for addressing challenges in their respective sectors. After thorough deliberations, the committee unanimously recommended their confirmation.
Both the Majority and Minority commended the appointees for their competence and character, ultimately reaching a consensus.
The approved nominees are expected to play pivotal roles in advancing the government’s development agenda.
These appointments were also confirmed under the guidance of Second Deputy Speaker Andrew Amoako Asiamah in the absence of Speaker Alban Bagbin.
