President John Dramani Mahama has named Mr. Sammy Gyamfi as the Acting Managing Director of the Precious Minerals Marketing Company (PMMC).
In his new role, Mr. Gyamfi will spearhead the establishment of the Ghana Gold Board (GoldBod), a key initiative outlined in the National Democratic Congress (NDC) 2024 manifesto.

The announcement was made in a press statement signed by Acting Presidential Spokesperson, Felix Kwakye Ofosu, which emphasised that the GoldBod project will operate under the supervision of the Minister for Finance.
The board's mission will focus on the sustainable management and marketing of Ghana's gold resources to benefit the nation, while also formalising the small-scale gold mining sector and providing essential support services to the industry.
Background
Mr. Gyamfi is a lawyer and Economic Policy Analyst holding a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Science and a Bachelor of Law from Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, along with a Barrister-at-Law certificate from the Ghana School of Law.
He also holds a Master of Arts in Economic Policy Management from the University of Ghana and has completed leadership programs at Harvard Kennedy School.
With prior experience at Exton Cubic Group Limited, a respected mining firm in Ghana, and his current position as National Communications Officer of the NDC, Mr. Gyamfi is well-equipped to lead the establishment of the GoldBod, an initiative central to the Mahama administration’s agenda for economic revitalisation.
