President John Dramani Mahama has submitted a third batch of ministerial and regional ministerial nominees to Parliament for prior approval.
The 17 names, delivered through the Speaker of Parliament include individuals expected to serve as Ministers of State and Regional Ministers across various sectors and regions.
The Member of Parliament for Asawase, Muntaka Mubarak, has been nominated as the Minister-Designate for the Interior Ministry, while the MP for North Tongu, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, has been nominated as the Minister-Designate for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The MP for Ningo-Prampram, Samuel Nartey George, has been nominated to head the Ministry of Communications, and Emmanuel Armah-Kofi Buah, the MP for Ellembelle, has been named as the Minister-Designate for the Ministry of Lands and Natural Resources.
Edward Omane Boamah has also been nominated as the Minister-designate for the Ministry of Defence while Kofi Adams heads to the Sports Ministry.
Kwabena Mintah Akandoh will be the new Health Minister if approved by the appointments committee of Parliament.
The President has also designated the following individuals who are all Members of Parliament for specific ministerial roles:
Emmanuel Kwadwo Agyekum, as Minister of State in Charge of Special Initiatives; Felix Kwakye Ofosu, as Minister of State, Government Communications and Issifu Seidu, as Minister of State, Climate Change and Sustainability.
The Acting Spokesperson to the President, Felix Kwakye Ofosu, stated that these nominations reflect President Mahama’s commitment to building a robust and diverse team to address the pressing needs of the country.
