Assemblies of God Ghana, Living Family at Klagon, joined the nation in celebrating Chocolate Day.
The church used the occasion to promote Ghana’s National Chocolate Day as the church board shared bars of Golden Tree chocolate with the congregation and other people who participated in the event.
The celebration was not only a reflection of God’s love but also a show of support for Ghana’s cocoa industry.
Sermon
Preaching on the theme of love, the Lead Pastor, Rev. Charles Amponsem emphasised that God is love, and anyone who truly loves God must also love others.
He reminded the congregation of the biblical definition of love, and made references to 1 Corinthians 13:4-5, which states, “Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonour others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs.”
Chocolate Day
Ghana's National Chocolate Day was introduced in 2005 by the Ghana Tourism Authority in collaboration with the Cocoa Processing Company and other stakeholders. The initiative was aimed at promoting the consumption of locally made chocolate and cocoa products while also boosting domestic tourism. Celebrated annually on February 14, the day was strategically chosen to coincide with Valentine’s Day, encouraging Ghanaians to show love by sharing locally produced chocolate.
Since its inception, National Chocolate Day has been an opportunity to highlight Ghana's position as one of the world’s leading producers of cocoa while promoting healthy living and patriotism.
