Assemblies of God Ghana, through its dynamic Children's Ministries department, is gearing up to celebrate Children’s Day 2025 in all local churches across the country on Sunday, 10th August 2025.
The theme for this year’s celebration is “Pray Without Ceasing for Supernatural Manifestations” (1 Thessalonians 5:17-19), and it emphasises the power of prayer in shaping the spiritual lives of children.
This year’s celebration is being organised under the leadership of the General Superintendent, Rev. Stephen Yenusom Wengam, his assistant Rev. Godwin Tito Agyei and the National Director of Children's Ministries, Rev. Mrs. Comfort Wilson-Marfo, with a series of activities planned throughout the week to mark the occasion.
Activities
In an interview with The National Director of Children’s Ministries, Rev. Mrs. Comfort Wilson-Marfo,in an interview revealed that the event goes beyond the Sunday celebration and includes impactful week-long programs aimed at strengthening the faith, knowledge, and civic responsibility of children. She explained that one of the major activities is a talk show on parenting, which seeks to close the gap between the church and the family in raising children with Christian values.
The week will also feature evangelism and clean-up exercises, allowing the children to actively participate in community service while sharing the message of Christ. A special night of prayer for children will be held to intercede for their spiritual growth, safety, education, and general well-being.
Artificial Intelligence
Another highlight of the week is a presentation on artificial intelligence, designed to introduce children to the realities of modern technology and how to approach them with godly wisdom. The celebration will climax on Sunday, August 10th, with children taking the lead in various church activities such as Bible recitations, music, choreography, and more.
Rev. Mrs. Wilson-Marfo encouraged all parents, teachers, and church leaders to rally behind the children during this special period. “Children are a gift from the Lord. We must train them up in the way they should go, and we believe this celebration will ignite a new fire of purpose in their lives,” she said.
Assemblies of God Ghana’s Children’s Day Celebration remains a significant annual event that reflects the church’s deep commitment to raising a God-fearing generation that will influence society positively.
