Nine babies were delivered at the Maternity ward of the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital on Christmas Day(Wednesday, December 25,2024).
This came to light at the time AGTV News Team visited the facility at 2:00pm on the same day.
At exactly 2:33am the first Christmas day new baby girl was delivered at the Hospital’s Labour Ward One. The second baby was delivered at the Labour Ward Two at exactly 3:25am on Christmas day.
Appreciation, joy
The mother of the first Christmas Day baby, Monica Arthur, a Seamstress at Ablekuma could not hide her joy about the delivery of her baby girl.
She thanked God for the honour done her to deliver the new baby on Christmas Day.
Good feeling
The Senior Midwifery Officer at the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital, Miss Susana Aggrey who stood in for the Nursing Officer on duty, Miss Enid Kotey explained that it was a good feeling for health personnel on duty to witness such a Divine coincidence of deliveries on Christmas Day.
She said Alberta Frimpong is the mother of the second baby.
Miss Aggrey also revealed that five out of the nine babies were normal deliveries while four were through Caesarean Operations adding that the babies and their respective mothers are doing well.
Christmas day deliveries
Christmas Day babies are a special gift. For some, it's a coincidence, but for others, it's an extra reason to rejoice during the festive season.
