The African Union(AU) High Representative for Silencing the Guns Initiative, Dr Mohamed Ibn Chambas, has joined other dignitaries to express their heartfelt condolences to the General Superintendent of Assemblies of God,Ghana Reverend Stephen Yenusom Wengam following his mother's passing.
Dr Chambas who is also a Lawyer, Statesman and International Diplomat joined the congregation of Cedar Mountain Chapel, East Legon, Assemblies of God to worship on Sunday November 24, 2024.
He commiserated with Reverend Wengam, over the loss of his mother, Madam Deborah Wengam.
The AU Representative further commended Reverend Wengam's late mother for raising a son who is an asset to the church, the nation and the world at large.
Dr Chambas eulogised Reverend Wengam for his diverse contributions towards the development of the human race and society.
Other Dignitaries
Meanwhile other delegations from the Assemblies of God fraternity from both Ghana and the Ghanaian community in France have also paid separate visits to the Cedar Mountain Chapel to commiserate with Reverend Wengam.
A delegation from France Assemblies of God (Ghanaian Community) led by Reverend Ntim Sarpong, who oversees the Ghanaian Assemblies of God Fellowship in France, offered their sympathies to Reverend Wengam during this challenging period.
The Church Board of Glory Assemblies of God, Sakumono, led by their Senior Pastor, Reverend Stephen Adjartey; a Former General Superintendent of Assemblies of God, Ghana Reverend Moses Sumaila and Pastors of Ada District Assemblies of God, Ghana led by the District Pastor, Reverend Samson Agbemebiase were among the delegation that visited Reverend Wengam to express their condolences.
Book of condolence
As part of their visits they signed a book of condolence in honour of the late Madam Wengam, acknowledging her legacy and the impact she has made on Assemblies of God fraternity and the nation as a whole.
Emotional support
These visits underscore the strength of the Assemblies of God community in standing together to provide spiritual and emotional support in times of loss and grief. On the other hand, the outpouring of support and condolences from dignitaries is a testament to Reverend Wengam's influence and impact. As a Lead Pastor and General Superintendent of Assemblies of God, Ghana he has earned the respect and admiration of many.
