The Assemblies of God Ghana Professionals Network was vibrantly relaunched on Friday at the Kempinski Hotel in Accra. Established in 2004, the network serves as a key platform for harnessing professional expertise within the Assemblies of God Ghana church to advance the Kingdom of God.
The event, held under the theme ‘Sending the Light: Role of Christian Professionals,’ featured former Chief Justice Georgina Theodora Wood as the Special Guest of Honour. The relaunch aims to strengthen the network’s role in connecting professionals within the church, mobilizing skills, funding, and resources for missions and ministries, and coordinating projects that benefit underserved communities.
The restructured network is designed to create a pool of experts for career guidance, contribute resources for project investments, and provide advisory services to the church’s Executive Presbytery on specialized issues.
Rev. Stephen Wengam, General Superintendent of Assemblies of God Ghana, officiated the relaunch and urged professionals to exemplify Christ in their fields. He praised those who contributed to the revival of the network, emphasizing its importance in mobilizing professional expertise for effective church administration and mission work.
Kwabena Adu-Boahene, Chairman of the Governing Council of the Assemblies of God Professionals Network, highlighted the historical contributions of Christian missionaries who faced significant socio-economic challenges in Ghana and laid the foundation for the Assemblies of God church.
During the ceremony, a brand-new Nissan X-TERRA was donated to the national office of the Youth Ministry Department of Assemblies of God Ghana. Additionally, an ultra-modern office space was dedicated to the Assemblies of God Professionals Network, with plans to open similar offices in regional locations across the church.
